The Test Year - Everything you wanted to know
This article is intended for Instructors
This article is for Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing simulations.
The Test Year is a trial run for Year 1 of the simulation. It allows the participants to try the simulation together with their team members for the first time and to learn how their decisions affect their results. Individuals doing a solo experience will also benefit from seeing the results their choices have caused.
After the Test Year is over, the simulation is automatically set ready for Year 1. There are some important points to note about this, however:
- The results displayed at the start of Year 1 and all the advice given by the virtual managers in Year 1 are based on the decisions taken by the participants in the Test Year. They help students make better decisions when the competitive simulation begins.
