How to Simulate a Round (Year)
This article is intended for instructors.
This article is for Team versions of Praxar's Kayak, Golf, and Video Game simulations.
Overview
Instructors can choose to simulate rounds
manually (by clicking a button to run each round) or set up the
Planner for automatic execution on a schedule. You can also combine both methods, using manual control for some rounds and automation for others, depending on your course needs.
Simulating Automatically
- Access your instructor profile at www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click ''Access'' for the corresponding group.
- Go to the Planner tab.
- In the Simulation menu of the Planner Settings, choose ''Automatic Execution'' by entering an ''End Date'' for each round of the simulation.
Tips for Using the PlannerTime deadlines with class discussions
If the deadline is too early in the week, students may discuss their decisions before class. To keep attention focused, consider simulating the round the night before the next class.
Keep deadlines consistent
Setting the same day and time each week (e.g., Sunday at 11:59 PM) helps students build habits and reduces confusion.
Allow time for reflection
Leave at least 24 hours between the simulation deadline and any graded reflections or quizzes, so students have time to review results thoughtfully.
Important: The Solo version does not support automatic simulation, as students progress individually. Learn more here.
Simulating Manually
- Access your instructor profile at www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click ''Access'' for the corresponding group.
- Click on any one of the ''Simulate'' buttons, typically located at the top right-hand corner of your screen.
