This article applies to the Solo version.
This article is for Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing simulations.
In the solo version, each participant controls the SIMULATE button themselves, which allows them to advance from one round to the next (from one year to the next). In some cases, the instructor may wish to control the rate of progress of the participants by using the Planner to configure one or multiple Simulations, it is possible to prevent students from simulating before a date set by the instructor and to prevent them from advancing too quickly in the simulation.
To set this up with the Planner:
- Access your instructor profile at www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click on the ''Access'' button of the corresponding group.
- Select the Planner tab.
- In the Simulation menu of the Planner Settings, enter the Date Available (date and time) for each Year of the simulation.

If no constraints are set in the Planner, students can move through the simulation freely, even completing all 10 rounds at their own pace.
For example, if a "Date Available" event is configured for years 1 and 2, participants must wait until the scheduled date and time to simulate those rounds. For any year without constraints, they can continue without restriction.
The "Simulate" button is always visible in the participant portal. However, when an "Activate Simulate Button" event is active, students can only simulate the corresponding year once the Planner date is reached.
If you want them to move at their own pace, you can uncheck the ''Pacing Control'' box for those rounds only.
This operation is intended to prevent participants from moving too fast in the Solo version of a simulation. It does not set a deadline by which they must have completed their work.
