This article is intended for instructors.
When accessing your new portal 2.0, the INSTRUCTOR ZONE contains all the tools you need to manage your group simulation.
The
objective of this article is to clarify:
When to use
a specific tool?
Why use a
specific tool?
Before
the simulation
Step 1: Groups
Your group simulation is created automatically by requesting a new deployment. By accessing a group via the Groups tab, you can manage most of the simulation's features.
Step 2:
Planner
The Planner is essential for the instructor who wants to save time and plan the simulation
sequence from beginning to end. It allows you to automate various tasks,
including:
- the
end date of the Practice Zone
- the simulation calendar
- the
minimum number of rounds to complete in the Practice Zone
- the
starting date
- the
number of rounds to complete
- tools
you wish to display or hide from the students
- the option to copy the configuration to others groups
Step 3:
Participants
Comparing
the Participants list with your student list is important before starting the
real simulation.
You want to be sure that all students have registered and are associated with the correct
simulation group.
During
the simulation
Step 4:
Reports
The Reports tool is a game-changer for tracking and comparing student results and engagement
throughout the simulation, including the Preparation phase.
The instructor
can use this tool to extract results and create reports at various points
during the Simulation phase based on different metrics of their choosing.
After
the simulation
Step 5:
Engagement
The purpose
of the Engagement report is to provide a score based on student commitment within
the simulation. As an instructor, you can choose different metrics such as:
- Time
spent on site
- Reports
consulted
- Advice
read
- Podiums
consulted, etc.
Then,
determining the weight of each of these indicators in the overall score will
allow you to obtain the Engagement Score.
If you want to give some points for this metric in the final score of the
simulation, you will need to calculate it before configuring the Grading report in the next step.
Step 6:
Grading
The Grading report can be configured at any point - before the simulation starts, during
the simulation, or once it is completed.
This report generates an overall
score for each student based on the following components of your choosing:
- Tutorial Score
- Simulation results
- 360-Degree Evaluation
- Questionnaire results
- Engagement Score
- Logbook Score
These metrics can be combined to create a final grade that reflects both performance and participation throughout the simulation.
You can create more than one final evaluation with the same tool. For example,
if you want to compare student progress, you can create one report at the
beginning (e.g. Year 2) and another at Year 10.
