This article is intended for instructors.
In the
Instructor Zone of your Praxar portal, you can access the following Instructor
tools at the left of your screen.
The
objective of this article is to clarify:
When to use
a specific tool?
Why use a
specific tool?
Before
the simulation
Step 1: Groups
Creating your
simulation Groups is a mandatory step before starting the simulation.
Step 2:
Planner
The Planner is essential for the instructor who wants to save time and plan the simulation
sequence from beginning to end. It allows you to automate various tasks,
including:
- the
end date of the Practice Zone
- the schedule of the simulation
- the
minimum number of rounds to complete in the Practice Zone
- the
starting date
- the
number of rounds to complete
- tools
you wish to display or hide from the students
- simulation
groups you want to associate with this planner
Step 3:
Participants
Comparing
the Participants list with your student list is important before starting the
real game.
You want to be sure that all students have registered and are associated with the correct
simulation group.
During
the simulation
Step 4:
Reports
The Reports' generator is a must for tracking and comparing student results and engagement
throughout the simulation, including the Preparation phase.
The instructor
can use this tool to extract results and create reports at various points
during the Simulation phase based on different metrics of their choosing.
Please note
that data cannot be extracted until after the Simulation phase has begun. However,
it is always possible to
create report templates before the beginning of the
Simulation.
After
the simulation
Step 5:
Engagement
The purpose
of the Engagement tool is to provide a score based on student commitment within
the simulation. As an instructor, you can choose different metrics such as:
- Time
spent on site
- Reports
consulted
- Advice
read
- Podiums
consulted, etc.
Then,
determining the weight of each of these indicators in the overall score will
allow you to obtain the Engagement Score.
If you want to give some points for this metric in the final score of the
simulation, you will need to calculate it before configuring the Grading tool
in the next step.
Step 6:
Grading
The
instructor can configure the Grading tool before the simulation begins, during
the simulation, and at the end of the game. The purpose is to create an overall
score for the student based on various metrics generated during the simulation
process:
- Tutorial Score
- Simulation results
- 360-Degree Evaluation
- Questionnaire results
- Engagement Score
You can create more than one final evaluation with the same tool. For example,
if you want to compare student progress, you can create one report at the
beginning (e.g. Year 2) and another at Year 10.
