1. Create a New Planner
- Give it a unique name
- Select which Product you will be using
- Select if you are doing the Team or Solo version of the Simulations.
2. Read the Disclaimer as it contains
important points about the functionality when using the Planner
- Press 'Accept' once you have read all the points and agree.
3. Start configuring the Preparation Events
in the Preparation menu
- Choose if you want to set a specific end date/time for when the Practice
Zone is available. Otherwise, leave these fields blank and the Practice Zone will remain
available for the entire session.
- Either leave the number of Practice Zone
rounds at 0 (meaning there is no required number of rounds that students need
to complete) or set a specified number of rounds. For more information about
the Practice Zone see here.
4. Start configuring the Simulation Events
in the Simulation menu
- Select a date and time for when the Simulation should open. It's closed by
default, so this step is important.
- Select if students need to have finished all the Tutorial questions before
starting the Simulation or not. Please note, in the Team version, new teams
cannot be created after Year 1, so to avoid students missing out on forming a
team it's a good idea to not make this a requirement before simulating Year 1
and moving the simulation to Year 2.
- Choose if you want the students to begin with a Test Year, or simply start
at Year 1 of the Simulation. To find out more about the Test Year, see here.
- Use the slider to select how many rounds of the Simulation you are requiring
your Students to complete (maximum 10).
- For SOLO versions, select if you want the Students to be able to simulate
the round when they want by leaving the toggle on "Student", or
switch it to "Instructor" and then enter a date and time for when you
want the Simulate button to be available to the Student. To find out more about
this, see here.
- For TEAM versions, select "Manual" if you as the Instructor will be Simulating the rounds manually, by using the Simulate button yourself at a time and date of your choosing, or select "Auto" and then enter a date and time for when you want the round to simulate and move to the next year of the Simulation automatically.
- In the "Simulation - Advice & Analysis" section, by default, all these tools are visible to students. Select if you want to hide them by
clicking on the respective toggle.
5. Start Associating which Simulation
Groups you want to have the configuration applied to in the Associated menu.
- In the table, you can view all the Simulations for the Product and version
you chose. Select the required Simulations by clicking on them.
- Once you have selected the Simulations, click on "Link" in order
to link them to the Planner.
