You can manually create companies in the instructor portal, or let students form their own companies during class. Typically, instructors assign company numbers to students, who then enter their assigned number when entering the simulation phase. This eliminates the need for instructors to form companies manually.
In class
Follow these steps to create companies in class:
- Before class, log in to www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click on the corresponding group.
- Click on the Companies tab, and enter the required number of participants by company (see ''Company size'').
3. During class, divide the students into teams, and assign a number (from 1 to 50) to each company.
4. The first student of a company to log in to the simulation will have to enter the company number, and give a name to their company.
5. The next students to register will need to ''Join a company'':
i. Choose the right company (a message will appear to make sure they are choosing their company).
ii. Check the box, and click on the ''Join'' button.
Manually
Follow these steps to create companies manually:
- Log in to www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click on the corresponding group.
- Start by creating all the companies that will participate in the simulation. See Adding new companies to a simulation for help if needed.
- In the Participants tab, click on the ''Assign the participant to a company'' icon, select the company, and click on the ''Assign'' button.
- Repeat step 3 for each participant in the list.
