The overall score is an estimate of the overall quality of a kayak based on a customer survey. The customers responding to the survey indicated that the most important factors, in order of importance, are:
  • The choice of materials and suppliers
  • The characteristics of the kayak
  • The quality of production (the quality of the workforce, training, support to production, maintenance, etc.)

It is challenging but not impossible to position your kayak at the high-end of the market within the first 5 years of the simulation. This feature mimics what is happening in the real world: quality requires major investments in equipment and training of employees. It is a demanding strategy, as prices must be adjusted annually to account for the improved level of quality.
