Overview
Sometimes, as an instructor, you may want to give a struggling company a financial boost, while in other cases, you may need to impose a penalty. In both situations, you can adjust the company’s Income Statement by adding or subtracting funds.
Students asking a lot of questions? Try turning it into a teaching moment!
Pretend you’re a consultant and “charge” them a small fee each time they come to you for your professional advice. This adds a fun twist of realism to the simulation while showing them that expert guidance has value in the real world.
Help or Penalize a Company
- Log in to www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click on the ''Access'' button of the corresponding simulation group.
- Select the Results & Analysis tab.
In the "Performance" section, move your mouse over the company's line and click on the ellipsis (...) to the right of the screen to display the menu.

4. On this list, select the ''Help or penalize company'' option, and a new window will open.
5. Enter a positive amount to help a company or a negative amount to penalize the company, and click on the ''Confirm'' button.
Instructor Interventions
When you add or subtract funds, the amount will immediately appear in the company’s Estimated Budget tool and later in the Instructor Intervention line of the Income Statement once the round is simulated. These interventions do not affect company taxes.
Important: Added or subtracted funds are not cumulative within the same round. You may adjust the amount as often as you like before simulating, but only the final amount saved—positive or negative—will be applied.
