Helping or penalizing a company

Helping or penalizing a company

Info
This article is intended for instructors.

Notes
This article is for Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing simulations.

In certain situations, you may need to help a company that is struggling financially. To do so, you can add a sum of money directly to the company’s Income Statement. In other situations, you may need to penalize a company, so you can subtract a sum of money directly from the company’s Income Statement.

Follow these steps to help or penalize a company:

  1. Log in to www.praxar.com, go to Groups and click on the ''Access'' button of the corresponding simulation group.
  2. Select the Results & Analysis tab.
  3. In the "Performance" section, move your mouse over the company's line and click on the ellipsis (...) to the right of the screen to display the menu.

4. On this list, select the ''Help or penalize company'' option, and a new window will open.
5. Enter a positive amount to help a company or a negative amount to penalize the company, and click on the ''Confirm'' button.

Info
The amount will appear in the “Instructor intervention” item of the Income Statement that will be generated when the current round is simulated. However, it will appear immediately in the Estimated Budget. Note that money you add or subtract through an “Instructor intervention” will have no effect on the company’s taxes.

Alert
Please note that subsidies or penalties are not cumulative during the same game round. It is always possible to modify the amount before simulating the current year. Only the last amount saved by the instructor, whether positive or negative, will impact the company's Income Statement and Estimated budget.
Warning
By default, companies that have received financial aid or a penalty from the instructor are excluded from  Praxar's World Ranking.
